AUCTION RULES AND GUIDELINES
GENERAL CONDITIONS
On the evening of the event, please sign in at the registration desk. You will be assigned a bid number that you may use to bid on all silent and live auction items at the Gala. All bids are binding offers to purchase. Once made, bids cannot be withdrawn. You, the bidder, are financially responsible for the use of your bid number. In the event of a dispute on a bid, the PTO Gala Committee or the Auctioneer will act as the final authority in determining the winning bid. Payment by successful bidders must be made by 23:30 at the cashier’s desk located in the foyer. Payment will be accepted in rubles, dollars, U.S. checks, or credit cards. A service fee will be applied to credit card payments. All sales are final. Items are not refundable to merchants for exchange or credit. After payment has been made, the item may be claimed by showing a receipt. Select items will not be sold below minimum bids. Some donations have a restricted time of use. Please check the details of the items purchased for valid dates. All auction items must be removed from the Lotte Hotel at the close of the evening. Reservations for hotels, private homes, tickets, dinners, lessons, etc. must be mutually arranged between the successful bidder and the donor unless otherwise specified. Initial contact should be made within 14 days of the event. The Gala Committee has endeavored to catalog and describe items and services correctly, but everything is sold “as is”. Certain auction items or services may have restrictive use or other qualifications. Many of the items, such as private vacation homes, are non-transferable. |
LIVE AUCTION RULES
The Live Auction will begin at the conclusion of dinner and will continue until all live auction items have been auctioned. Items are listed numerically in the program and the auctioneer will follow this sequence during the auction. An acknowledged bid is a binding offer to purchase the item. The auctioneer may specify a minimum price at the start of the bidding and may remove an item from the line up if it doesn’t get sufficient bids. On the fall of the auctioneer’s gavel, the highest bidder will be the purchaser of the item. In the event of a dispute, the auctioneer will act as the final authority and will determine the winning bidder. The decision will be final. |
